Tip, when playing Guitar, Bass or Ukulele etc, please make sure you take time to, in the words of my very first guitar teacher in 1978…

“If in doubt, shake it out.“

What this means is that if you experience any kind of hand/wrist discomfort, simply give your hand and wrist a shake to make sure there is enough blood circulating where it is needed.

As you can see from the image below, as guitarists, sometimes we need to place our hands and fingers in very unnatural positions, some that are way harder to perfect than others.

I gotta be honest, I have done this a countless number of times and in short, It has kept me playing for the last 48 years.

I just thought I’d share this little tip with you today, because, it really is imperative that there is enough blood flow in your hands when you’re playing the Guitar or Bass or Ukulele for an extended period of time.

You see, playing an instrument is completely unnatural, and therefore uses muscles that we don’t normally use in normal day to day life.

In short, read the title again. 😎
